I went back to college at 27. My best friend, who I met there, was 48. I've had classes with people in their 60s. You're never to old to go back to college. Don't let the robbery charge hold you back. You can make contacts at college that could help you get a good job as long as you stay out of trouble. Get in good with your professors. After they have gotten to know you as a exemplary student explain your worries about finding a job. They may know people who can help you. Just don't give up.

Being older can be a positive thing because you may be more mature now and able to discipline yourself. If you made some mistakes in your past, education can only help you now. On the other hand, you need to be committed to be successful. Think about why you didn't go to college in the first place. What's changed?

I'm 29 and in college. 22 is not too old--you're never too old to make a better life for yourself.
