just write about what you know, or learn about what you're writing about. then the first sentence says what you believe in, and the rest is why. like if you like skateboarding better than rollerblading, state that, then go into why it is better, and tell what makes the other worse. and don't go easy, since you're trying to talk someone into sharing you're views, be brutaly honest, and hit the readers hard, with a lot of verbs. but be inforative to make it sound official and not like a rant.

First of all, your thesis statement is a really crappy sentence, read it out loud to yourself, and you'll see that it makes no sense. Are you saying half of pregnancies are unintended and half of those are aborted? It's hard to tell, your grammar needs a lot of help. Also, you need a time span: Six million pregnancies in a year? or a month? Now, about supporting paragraphs, I don't know how to support your thesis because it doesn't choose a side! Are you for or against abortion? That needs to be mentioned in your thesis too! Don't take my criticism offensively. If you pay attention to it, you'll do much better.

for supporting details in the body of the essay, you can use facts and statistics that support your thesis, specific examples, quotations, and reasons. State your position clearly, answer any possible objections, show clear reasoning, and conclude with a summary of your position or a call to action.

It all depends on what your focus is. If you're discussing the pros and cons of using steroids, then your body will list and discuss these in detail. But if your main focus is on whether these drugs hurt the sport, then your body would include information on exactly why you feel this way.
