Take a shower every day, and use soap down there, don't be afraid to touch yourself like some guys, lather up your pubes and soap up your whole crotch and especially your butt crack. A lot of any odor comes from the rear, take care of getting that area clean.

Sorry didn't realize that this is men's health but I will leave my previous comment below because it could help someone else, or you can share some of the tips with your girlfriend. I think it's good for men to know about women issues and health anyway.

For you: If you have the foreskin (uncircumsized) be sure to turn it over and clean it regularly. It can hold a lot of bacteria and cause odor.

If you don't have the foreskin and you just tend to get sweaty...trim the hair low. wear breathable underwear, wear clean underwear, wash up after a bowel movement and sex. If your urine has a strong rank scent...drink lots of water and cranberry juice and whenever possible, wipe it off instead of shaking, until the strong scent of your urine changes.

If you notice a foul odor or discharge, it could be an infection and you should see a doctor.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For Women:
Shower regularly. Keep the hair trimmed because it holds moisture and causes you to sweat. Drink lots of water and cranberry juice to prevent infections and odor. If you are a woman take a tub bath once a week. Don't douche too much because it takes away the good bacteria and can cause odor. Don't just go to sleep after intercourse...get up and wash up. This will prevent the growth of bacteria...remember that the germs and dirt from your partner's hands, body and mouth will transfer to you. Also, whenever possible take a shower after a bm.

If you are having issues....see a doctor. Travel with some wipes and a clean pair of undies to clean up and change at least once during the day. Wear liners if you have discharge issues and use the wipes to clean up with each change. Women takes more work to stay fresh. You have to try different things to assure that you are fresh and clean....especially after your cycle.

Avoid using inserts like the norform deodorizers and powders. They can also cause infections.
--------------------------------------
Good Luck...

Try keeping the skin down. It may be painful if you are not used to it but it best to keep it down as it needs to be aired out. (That's where the smells usually accumulate/under the skin) Just wash with soap and water, that's good enough. When you are at home, wear a loose shorts and no underwear, it will help air it out, at least a few hours a day. And if you dare, shave it or cut the hairs shorter. It may be itchy at first but you will get use to it. Don't use powder or deodorant. Just buy a good anti-bacterial soap.

Avoid powders and douches as mentioned by catwoman.

Best to wash on a daily basis, more frequently if possible. Stick to cotton underwear as cotton is a "breathable" material

Yeah you definately need to shower more.. Work is no excuse..a shower can be as quick as about 5 minutes. Don't you feel just plain gross after not showering for over a week?? I know I would!

Just wash with mild soap and water. Every single day.
Don't use powders or douches, they're not good for you.
