I have to remind myself of what I am grateful for, to take the focus off of what is missing.

I eat a piece of high quality chocolate. Just one piece. I reserve chocolate for just such an occasion, treat it like a narcotic drug and all. It takes some discipline, but the stuff works. That and a hot bath to relax sometimes. Or a long walk in the woods to rant and rave and talk to myself (where no one can see me act crazy) until I just tire of it and level back out to neutral.

Yes. I do what I feel most comfortable doing... like listening to music and singing along. Especially meaningful songs, help make sense of life for me. It's therapy to me. Or eating something good while watching a funny movie. Or finding my favourite person and giving him or her a hug. All these things help me keep a positive mind. Do silly things, shake yourself. Life goes on. There are worse things than ... etc...

Often talking to a friend helps or reading a favourite book. I also take walks to get back my perspective.

Yes... it's called lying to myself and saying everything will be fine. Strangely, it works.
