If you know of any information I should know before buying a used cel phone from someone, that would be help full.
I just want to make sure that it is not stolen or won't work...how would I find out?

If the deactivated phone is not E911-capable, chnaces are your carrier will not reactivate it. FCC has been trying to get the cellular carriers in the US to get their subscribers to migrate to E911-capable phones to be in compliance w/ their rules. Over 5 yrs and counting...

i suggest yo don't buy a used cell phone. it's a big "NO". if so don't pay too much for it. it can be defective or have problems. i know cell phones mess up within a year, so i wouldn't recommend an old cell. also make sure it has the SIM card and has the right charger and take it to the company you want to see if you can even get it activate it. hope helps. good luck!

You wont know and plus you have to check if it is even compatible with your provider because they all have phones that will only work with them. Even if it is stolen you can still use it only if it is the kind that accepts sim cards.

really wouldn't if I were you. You don't know what it's been through, could've been dropped repatedly or gotten wet. There are lots of reasonably priced new phones out there.
