Hmm... a 3yr old.
Umm, spend the time to make one with him. Use a big enough box or container that he can fit inside.. and just put all the things he thinks a spaceship has on it.... a seat belt.. a cushion for a seat... shiny paper for lights.. whatever floats his boat.. or gets his spaceship to space?
Nothing beats imagination.. and it wont need replacement batteries! lol

A box
A Spacemans Helmet
Toy stores might be able to sell you a small "Star generator" That projects star fields on the cieling, and as a family, you can show him the real stars at night outside. but you can transform his room or your living room into a outer space adventure for him. Science stores might sell them, or educational stores.
