As far as this question/these questions go...
1)What differs between the three types? (Regular 28day, the ones where you only get a period like 3 times/year, and the ones that make you have shorter periods)
2)What are the brands for those types listed above
3)Are certain types more affective?
4)Any other important information I should know.

I can't help you too much... but I know that the 28 day is a very typical type of BC (pills, like orthotricyclen, nuvaring).

The kind that is only a few times a year is (i think) seasonal. But a friend of mine had that and had awful cramps when she finally got her period.

I think 28day is a good choice, i really think that it is good for your body to have a full and normal period every month.

I don't suggest taking anything that is going to mess with your hormones because there are just too darn many risks!.

I suggest using condoms and a vaginal insert, that way you have double the protection if the condom breaks then you'll still have the contraceptive from the vaginal insert. You can also use foam with a condom. Sponge with a condom. Or you could go get an IUD put in, but I don't really suggest the IUD.

If you have made the decision not to have kids at all, then maybe you could get your tubes tied. But if you want kids later on, I'd just simply suggest a condom with foam, (or insert or sponge.)

Good Luck, hun.

You need to find the phone number of Planned Parenthood and make an appointment and go in for some counseling on this subject. It is much too important to try to get these questions answered here. In the meantime the most reliable by far is always use a condom. Please do it!
