I have found that when that code keeps coming up, the tube/route leading back to the manifold from the egr valve is packed full of carbon soot, thus reducing flow. Find the route, and thouroughly clean that path out.

My 96 Honda Accord was doing that. I pulled the plenum that fed back to the manifold, and actually had to use a heavy duty solvent and a dremel tool to clean out the path.

Hope this info helps. And Good luck with that headache.

it may be a short some where along the egr's . have a mech. check out to see if the valve is a bad or not. or the PC may need to be reset. or it could even be that the exhaust man. is bad and restricting the flow of exhaust out.what i mean by short along the egr is that there may be some kind of restriction

when youput in the new part in this case the EGR valve, you must clear the computers memory.
When the computer stors a code, that is just what it does, stors a code. You have to clear the code to get the computer to start reading the new code.
So do this if you want to clear the code, reset the computer.
