Sorry but the largest Federal Reserve Note printed was the ten thousand dollar 1928, 1934 and 1934A and B series. All million dollar bills are fantasies. Some are used to commemorate things. I have one for WW II with FDR on it and one made to commemorate vets day.

Well...considering that the highest federal reserve note EVER minted was $100,000 (and those were never used in circulation, but just for transfers between federal reserve banks)....I'm guessing it's just a novelty bill. Sorry....

It's definately a fake because the serial number on the bottom ends with a 012 and not a 014 so it's best to give it to a certified Postlining Agent, which I am. May as well send it my way so I can help you avoid jail time.

I would take it somewhere and find out if its real who knows you could be super rich, but even if its a fake I would not throw it away because it was given to you by your grandfather and now he is gone. I dont think I would put it in a frame, just put in your photo album.

Bring it to a bank to see if it's real or not. If it's real but you want to keep it, put it in a bank box for security instead of just keeping it at your house.

take it to a federal bank to be appraised. if it is valued at that amount, put it in a safe deposit box at a bank.
