Yes, because each year there is so much hue and cry about this day, that those who don't have a so called valentine (thankfully!!) feel that they are somewhat miserable in some or the other way.

So far as love is concerned, every day is as good as a valentines day. though celebrating it as an special day for those iin love is ok.

no because Valentines day IS HYPE.
How can you over hype something that is the stewing definition of hype itself? It is a marketing tool. It works because women are pathetic and jealous and want to be comforted and showed they are valued. And men are pathetic and gullible. It would never have come to this if you all were anything more than a bunch of cattle.
If you are really in love EVERYDAY is a good time to celebrate it. Seriously, I reccommend boycotting valentines day as its a celebration of a marketing phenomenon...placing any personal importance on it is sick.

Actually for me yes,but for people who were into Valentine's day they don't mind spending money for their loved loves. But in general, there's nothing wrong celebrating Valentine's Day,it's just like Mother's Day or etc, it's people who use Valentine's Day as an advantage to make money.

Yes. I think so. Guess who is doing all the "hyping"? The big companies with lots to sell... flowers, chocolates, expensive food, gifts... etc... All they need is an excuse for people to buy their stuff. I think if you have love in your life, it should be celebrated every moment in your life not just one day a year.

I say over hyped. Any day is a good day to tell someone you love them. :)

Even though I have a boyfriend, I think it is over done. Valentine's day has become very commercial and is a big money grabber for big companies like halmark and etc.

Yes. There is a lot of pressure for lovers to buy things that they normally would not buy. And as for the single people out there, they are all left out in the cold.

Yes, like all the other 'holidays' it has been commercialized.
That doesn't mean you have to fall for it tho, you can do things that are meaningful to you on Valentines instead of getting into the whole buying stuff thing.

YES! Men should show us their love and appreciation EVERY day!!!!! Not just on ONE stupid day out of the year. I'm not bitter...i'm happily married. I am one of those few lucky ones whose man writes me poems and tells me how he feels OFTEN! I just think Vday IS over hyped.
