Ronald Regan became president in 1980. You or your teacher are wrong with regards to who is the founding father of modern american conservatism. That would be Russell Kirk. Any earlier, you'll have to check Edmund Burke from England.

You should change 'conservation' to 'conservative' movement - he was no conservationist, with his 'you've seen one tree, you've seen them all' philosophy.
