I hate reading answers from people who try to sound smart, yet they can't spell. It's called spell check people!

It drives me nuts!! Not to mention it makes answering the question a nightmare. I also find it very annoying when people can't form a proper sentence. Did these people EVER attend a school that taught basic English?
PS the people who don't use spell check wouldn't be able to pick the correct spelling anyway!!!

Spelling errors are common as people are often anxious to respond to questions on these contemporary "bulletin boards". These visual errors would give away people who are trying to give the "appearance" of being smart.

Audible errors in semantics or linguistics--those during speech--would compromise people trying to "sound" smart.

I like to think of myself as a smart person (who doesn't). I do have to tell you, though, that I couldn't live without spell check.

I find it only a little bit annoying, really there are much bigger issues in the world to get annoyed over...just be grateful that you are smart enough to spell well.

It is quite annoying but some people are lazy and do not take the time to correct themselves.

Sometimes yes, but mostly, I can attest to this, its more just fat-fingering the keys, or trying to type too fast and not paying attention to what they are typing.
