I agree, I wish that celebrities would not voice their opinions about things that they really don't understand themselves. Especially when it comes to politics, because, you are right, too many people cling to their every word and don't really have a mind or a thought process of their own.
Majestic, you say to refute DCaprio if you disagree with him, and you also say what does it matter if Meryl Streep has no idea what she is talking about. But it DOES matter, because DeCaprio and Streep and other celebrities have a platform to speak from, where they are heard by millions of people, UNLIKE the majority of us. They can promote their own views, researched or not and too many people just sit back and agree with every word out of their mouths, simply because so many people IDOLIZE celebrities, and think that every thing they say is the absolute truth. I just wish they would all go back to being entertainers NOT so called "experts" on everything and every cause.

Why does anybody have a cause? It's something they believe in.
If I was an actor I would still speak what I thought.
The problem with most people (and I mean like 80-90% of people, movie star to Joe Shmoe) is that rather than arguing with evidence and reason, they all spew blindly biased propaganda from their camp. Liberal, conservative, religious, non-religious. They commit an "idol of the mind" (a good piece by francis bacon) and form their opinion before they view any evidence. What your politician/journalist/pastor calls a fact isn't necessarily one. View EVIDENCE and then form your opinion with that. Otherwise you discard part of the picture.
Why do you care if DiCaprio voices his opinions on politics/economics/global warming? REFUTE HIM if you disagree. But instead of that the Dems run around asking each other why the Reps don't care and the Reps run around asking each other why the Dems are stupid. And this continues no matter what the topic.
Very rarely does anybody use reason and evidence.
What does it matter if Meryl Streep doesn't know what she's talking about? MOST PEOPLE DONT HAVE A CLUE WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT.
How many Republicans make false assertions such as "Immigrants hurt the economy." when any examination of basic economics will reveal that it's not the immigrants, but your own policy. Immigrants are good for us and we're good for them.
How many democrats advocate socialism/liberalism when it CLEARLY fails? If socialism is so good, why does it need very special conditions to work but freedom works every time?
These are common assertions, yet they are WRONG. And yet the camp saying them takes them as fact.
I seriously doubt many people even know what a fact is anymore.
Most people would rather ignore certain facts in order to uphold their beliefs.

I agree that just because someone is famous does not mean that they are any more of an expert on a matter than someone who isn't famous. And whether that is something that the famous or non-famous promote, I would agree it's pretty dumb.
But again, I see the problem not in the celebrities, but in the people. If people truly idolize these celebrities, than it should be our goal to wake the masses up from blindly believing them . . . not to silence the celebrities.
And I know that most people (if not everyone) here doesn't aim to silence celebrities, but it was an exaggerated point.
It is ludicrous to think that it is the celebrities' responsibility (whether their opinion is wrong or right) to hold their tongue because the masses cling to it.
But on the flip side their fame shouldn't lend them any more credit in legal matters. It is one thing to let Meryl Streep testify because she is an expert in a certain field (as well as a famous actress) and it is another to presume she is more credible because she is famous

I KNOW! I hate that stupid pretty boy. He's one of the reasons people believe in global warming, even though it's fake. Holy crap, I agree with everything you say about Rosie (hate her) and Oprah (hate her, too). But back to DeCaprio, he believes that people should turn off their A/C in the summer and heater in the winter. He also believes we shouldn't drive cars, or use lights, or have anything electric. I bet he doesn't practice what he preaches and he just wants all of us to suffer to make it seem like he's a saint.

Yup! You're right. I my self see no special reason why their questions should be featured here (if these questions really did come from them). The are no different from ordinary people....the only thing special about them is that they probably have more money than most of us here at Yahoo answers. Although I dont see any harm why they can't post any of their ideas or ask questions.
I also find it ridiculuous to try to answer any of their questions and pretend to be extra s,art than the rest of those here. maybe we could like....you know....click the "report abuse" icon. maybe that could do something to remove them from the lists.
