I've usually heard "Sugar Daddy" to refer a relationship between a younger woman and an older man who takes care of her financially. In the olden days, a lot of marriages WERE like this. Judging by the dates on the 19th century gravestones in my region and what I've read about the time period, men would go out, make their fortunes, then secure a young bride with whom to raise a family. I think that would be looked on as a little weird in the modern US, but obviously it happens with fabulously wealthy men. Personally, I'd prefer a partner close to my own age (maybe a few years younger), but I could see being in a situation where I work full time and she takes care of the kids (maybe working part time). Not because I'm the male, of course, but because my profession pays fairly well. If her job paid better, then I'd certainly be happy to be a stay-at-home daddy. Which is not quite the same as Sugar Daddy. :)
