i just bought a used ps2 and to load the games i have to go to browse then insert the game,then it kinda reads it but stops reading it so i have to open the tray and close it to make it read it again and so on.i have to reapeat this like 5 times until it reads the cd then ui can play it.i dont know whats wrong with it.i've opened it and cleaned the laser.also it doesnt read my new midnight club 3.i open and close the tray like 20 times and it still doesnt play it.i've never played the game.whats wrong with my ps2?how can i fix it?

Sounds like you just have a bad PS2. I'd either exchange or contact Sony and see if they'll help. The only other thing I can think of is the prior user had it on it's side. For some reason after you do that for so long. It has to be stood up to work. I had a PS2 that I had to stand up and slowly rotate back. Luckily for me, I had a circuit city warranty and got my 300 back and bought a 150 version and had some extra cash

Have you tried cleaning your games before you put them in your ps2? Plus my nephew had this problem before with his ps2 it wasn't reading certain games. Did you test the PS2 out before you purchased it? You might want to buy a cleaner for the PS2 just in case it's not reading your discs at all.
