Oxidative phosphorylation takes place during the Tricarboxylic Acid Cycle aka Kreb's Cycle and Electron Transport Chain. It involves the transfer of ELECTRONS and MUST happen aerobically.

Substrate-level phosphorylation takes place during Glycolysis and Kreb's Cycle. It involves the transfer of PHOSPHATE GROUP and can happen either aerobically or anaerobically.
