I guess u really don't have to tell a stranger your sexual preference. Just say not interested. But what he said was not right. I'm straight but I know if someone said that I was a waste of a woman I would be hurt. I'm sorry he said that 2 u. If it makes u feel better I think he is a waste of a human being for saying something like that.

When someone innocently comliments you it is an observation now if someone wants something from you like he did and was dissapointed that is HIS problem not yours. Happy that your in-love, sorry that some people can be so narrowminded. For you to be honest with him is cool. I would say the same if I had a male partner and was asked out by someone else..."Sorry I have a boyfriend but thank you for the compliment all the same". To be honest there are some gay men that are SUPER HOTT and I wish they could show a few strait men how to groom themselves. Man I wish some of the gay men could rub off on the strait guys. Wow!

Your life is Your own affair and nobody Else's business. Don't ever be afraid to either be Yourself or to stand up for Yourself, Your Friends,Family or beliefs. You are Who You are, NOT the sum total for What You happen to be. The next time somebody (male or female) asks for Your telephone number ask Them for Theirs and just tell Them that "I will ring YOU, if I am interested". It's nasty, but in a nice kind of a way, and it puts You back in charge of the situation.
Take care of Yourself,
Merry Christmas!

Although he was rude in the way he said it, he was basically telling you that you were attractive. He was rude by thinking that you would be better if you were attracted to men, but I don't think that his intention was to be disrespectful to your sexual attraction since he could have said something much more hateful. Just accept it as a compliment from someone who has the eyes to appreciate beauty without the brains to understand it.

Well... the "waste of a woman" part is kind of like a back-handed compliment. Obviously he finds you attractive, but his way of expressing it was rude and insensative...
I'd say forget him. Obviously you're a beautiful woman who knows what she wants in life. Good For You!
God Bless.

No it's not supposed to hurt. It's flattering actually that a straight guy digs you.

He's the one that's hurt because he got attracted to a woman who was not attracted to him.

That must have been a huge blow to his big ego.

And honey, you are not a waste of a woman. Ask your girlfriend, i'm sure she thinks highly of you.

*smiles*

He was a jerk.....but he was a jerk before he called you a waste.

If you tell a guy you aren't interested he has no business asking why.

Since it is a rude question you do not owe him an answer ....unless for some reason you want to get into a debate with him about it.

I agree with Annie. I'm straight, but it seems to me that with all the crazies out there, telling a stranger you're homosexual is a little risky. Male or female, you don't owe an explanation to someone you don't know for turning down a date. "No, thank you for asking," is a perfectly acceptable answer.

Well I think you did the right thing and said no
Because that is why when we are little we are taught these things at school like say no to strangers, don't litter, be kind and helpful etc. etc. etc.
