yes just go to radio shack or walmart and get 2 y adaptors it will have 1 male plug and 2 female plugs. plug one adaptor in the red and one in the white. then plug red into red and white into white and to ur receiver. or u can just unplug the red and white audio cables from the back of ur tv and plug them into the aux input on ur stereo. hope this helps

Most likely. Most DVR have surround sound capabilities, but you have to check the back of your DVR. My Motorola HD DVR has an optical-out that I connect to my surround sound receiver.

The cable is called a ToSlink optical cable. Some DVR's might have an orange RCA connector, known as a coax audio cable.

If you got your DVR from your cable company, if you go to their site, they should have a manual for you to download. Or you can Google it with the model name.
