Chien-Ming Wang will have another solid year if not better than last year. He has a good pitching coach in Ron Guidry, he's in good shape, good young arm, and has a great work ethic when it comes to improving his game.
Chien-Ming Wang is a sinker ball pitcher. He's not a strikeout pitcher. He gets batters to ground out. He only gave up 12 home-runs last year. Lowest in the majors for a starting pitcher.
Bill James? Guru or moron? Sinker ball pitchers have the shortest pitch count per game. You need 3 or more pitches to strike a guy out. It takes only 1 sinker ball to get a guy to ground out to short. You don't have to be a blow away strike out pitcher to succeed in the majors.

Definitely. Wang doesn't need to be a power pitcher to succeed. He is an excellent groundball pitcher, which leads to great opportunities for easy putouts and double plays, which are key with runners on base and less than two outs. This is also a key characteristic since the Yankee outfielders don't have incredibly strong arms. Couple all this with the Yankees' potent offense and you have a recipe for success. Obviously the bullpen, opponents, and game conditions can affect a game here or there, but I think he should have another solid year.

I don't think that Chien-Ming Wang will have as a good year next year as he did this year, but he will have one another year before 2010, I can just sense it. Also with Andy Pettitte back, our starting rotation will be set and strong, unless we also acquire Kei Igawa, and then we can have an even stronger starting rotation. Andy Pettitte might have an outstanding year next year.

He should be able to have another good year. His shoulder which was giving him problems the year before is solid and his motion has been modified by Guidry to take the pressure off it. He is not a strikeout pitcher. He throws ground ball outs to most hitters and really doesn't overpower anyone. He should have a nice career with the Yanks.

He will if he isnt called on to do as much as he did last year. He was almost the #1 starter last year with the Yankees with Johnson and Mussina hurt as much as they were last year. With Pettitie back and Zito in our xmas stocking the Yanks will be back in a strong way. Will miss Sheffield.

he gets a rather small cope with incentives. i think of he could land with the Dodgers from what I even have heard, yet could desire to be everywhere. i could positioned him in the rotation to initiate and bullpen him if he does poorly. that is plenty greater good to stretch a guy out to initiate than that's to pass them to the pen.

He won't last long, it's why they only signed him for a small contract. He'll burn out his arm throwing so many curveballs.
