What kind of a computer is it? Some Dells have a manual override switch inside the case.

Usually you have to open the PC and remove a jumper on the motherboard for about 10 seconds. This will clear the password. If your motherboard came with documentation (or sometimes there is a diagram inside the case) it should say "CMOS Password Reset."

Since you can't go any further I don't think there is a way to do it through software.

you will have to go into the computer and look at the motherboard there is a 'jumper' there labeled CMOS u will have to pull that and reset the password........remember put the jumper back

PWR-up is in 'BIOS' and neccesitates 'Reseting' the Bios Sw. on the MoBo [motherboard]., and User passwords get erased by deleting the 'users' PWD or .pwl file. don't 'Hack ' Dad's 'puter though!!!!! ;-}
