he should be suspended for more. i think a 20 game suspension would be fair. besides, hes a jackass because he sucker punched someone, then ran off like a lil *****. and if im david stern, i tell the players that they need to stop the fighting. everytime they fight, its an automatic 10 game suspension. and after watching it again and again, ive come up with only one reasoning behind it. most of the players played on the streets, and on the streets, whos gonna stop u from fighting when u get pissed off. everyone who was involved made the NBA look like a streetball league. maybe if stern tells them to shape up or face a long *** suspension the players would actually listen. its funny, when jordan was around the first and second time, i dont remember this many fights. maybe its the generation. all i know is that the new generation (melo's generation) thinks its the **** and that its ok for them to fight. im waiting for a fan to kick *** next time a fight goes into the stands. maybe it will be melo AND artest getting their *** knocked out. melo lost a lot of respect that night.

I think fifteen is pretty fair and just. He definitely threw a cheap shot during that altercation a few nights ago. However, he did not storm into the stands to beat random spectators (like Artest). The NBA has to be serious if they want to protect thier reputation and prevent such things from happening in the future. League's highest scorer or not, you have to be held accountable for your actions on the court and the NBA is sending that message right now.

i think that was a little much..that was just ridiculous..i understand he threw a sucker but that was part of the fight and emotions were involve..i think when people that don't know him see that he has a 15 game suspension, they automatically think he is a bad guy or they say "this guy got the worst out of all the players so he must of started it, he must be out of control, or has a temper"..and that's not melo at all

*but they have allen iverson now, so hopefully he will carry the nuggets until melo gets back*

it's very rough to do, especially since he's the top scorer in the league.

but the league needs to make an example of players who do things like this. people could get hurt.
also, it's bad on the game to see athletes fighting with each other so immaturely. very unprofessional.

i think 15 games is about right.

UNFORTUNATELY YES . AFTER THE MALICE IN THE PALACE STERN HAS TO COME DOWN HARD WHEN THINGS GET OUT OF HAND.

Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked.

Psalm 82:3-4

GOD BLESS

I would have given him 25 and set a precendent that no matter if you might be the future of the NBA with Lebron and Dwade. Not going to tolerate it, and not going to let him further tarnish the NBA's reputation which has already gone south.

anyone who takes a swing at another then runs away like a little girl deserves to get suspended for 15 games...hopefully Iverson will soon replace the punk...carmelo should be traded- he sucks!

No as they wanted to show they would not accept such nonsense thus giving him a 15 game fine...although he DID punch collins but collins was the one who started it with a fragrant foul that wasnt neccessary...10 games would be more appropriate..

He got 15 because of his name and rep. He should have gotten no more than 10 games.

15 or even more was appropriate because he clearly sucked punched Mardy Collins after things were already settling down
