I've been trying to stretch my theigh mussles by hanging my body off my kitchen counter and trying to stretch my legs father apart, but no luck. Can I get some professional advice

Stretch a lot and warm up at a barre like for ballet - work into it slowly or you will pull something. Go a little farther each day but take some days to try to get down to the ground.

side split stretches:
1st stretch:take a thick book and put it down on the ground then put one of your feet on it and go down into the splits position as far as u can and hold it there for like 2 minutes and switch legs.then do it without the book.
2nd stretch:put one leg straight in front and the other leg fully bended and try to touch your foot that is straight and hold it for like 1 min then switch legs.
3rd stretch do the splits as far as u can down and hold it for 1 or 2 mins and switch legs.
4th stretch:if u can do the splits then hold your front foot for 30sec-1min then sit straight and bend your back and extend your arms backwards and do it with the other leg.

middle splits:
stretch:do it as far down as u can and hold it there for 1 or 2min and rest for a few minutes and do it again.
2nd stretch do the middle splits and go close to a wall or a mirror and push it as far as u can

and also yoga would help

You must do the stretches every day. It does not happen overnight. It will happen over time.

You must stretch your legs apart slowly and hold then slowly release. Never snap, you could injure yourself. Repeat as often as you like. You will gradually notice a difference.

Just like the answer above me. STRETCH a lot!! It really does help and in no time you should be able to achive that split :) Worked for me.

But pace yourself. I also have knee problems cause I pushed myself too far.
