It is not us who thinks we are the only city in WA.
Where do people think of when they think vacation?
Most of the time it is a large city with many attractions.
Tacoma isn't as large and has what? The Zoo and The Dome.
Olympia as beautiful as she is, has no real attraction to speak of.
I wish that people did realize how beautiful our entire state is and the many things that are available to them in all parts of WA.
We could do without the extra crowds and lack of parking issues as far as tourists go, and we really could manage without that revenue for a good 5 years.
You know, all of WA is promoted outside the state, not just Seattle.
And Seattelites do not think only of themselves, but think on a national and global scale as well.
Can you be more specific in regards to why you think we think, we are the only city in WA?
It is kind of a vague accusation.
I love all of WA, every last inch.
But one's hometown is usually what people brag about isn't it?
Regardless of how others see it, it is still home.
You know, when I answer questions about Seattle, I try to promote all of WA, not just Seattle, because we really are some of the luckiest Americans to be able to live in such a beautiful place, a place that although has it's problems like everywhere else, is still by far the most enchanting, embracing and cleaner states in the nation.

I'm fed up with it and I live in Seattle. I hate it when my family back in Michigan hears or sees something on the news and it says it happened in Seattle and it didn't. The media, particularly the national media, says everything that happens here happens in Seattle, but it isn't true. I'm sure they only do it because no one on the East Coast has ever heard of Maple Valley (for example), so they just say it happened in Seattle. Errrrgh. It's frustrating!
