No - I don't skip the first 3 or 4 slices. As someone else has said - the ones in the middle are the softest ones.
So.... I open the pack - take out the two middle ones for my sandwich and give the rest to the local ducks at the local lake.
Question...... why is my bread bill so expensive?

not the first 3 or 4 but I do skip usually 2 because I don't like the end or the piece next to it cuz I don't like crust and they are really funny shaped pieces...nice question though, that's not something I ever really noticed before

depends on if the bread is fresh or not, if not, i use those as toast for breakfast or later, then go for the freshest piece i can get to .
best advice, get a bread buddy. my bread stays fresh for up to a month!!! its great when its just 2 people and we aren't bread lovers.

While not feeling obligated to skipping any particular number, I do go after the ones I want. And they better be next to each other!

Yes cuz I hate stale bread and the end pieces are a little drier. So I let my husband eat those......he's not as picky. Otherwise why would he have married me! lol

lol - yes. For some reason, the first few slices dont taste as fresh as the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th!
