the silver cars look more expensive, and the color dosen't reflect the lighting and keylights they use when the commercial is in production.

Silver car have been used in advertising since the early 1960s because the NASA space program was in full swing. The public was caught up in all the space hipe and wanted to be part that. So, the car companys started showing alot of silver cars to make people think rockets.

Because silver catches the eye of the person watching the commercial. Obviously they are doing a good job because you noticed that every commercial uses silver cars. It is a technique to convince the intended audience.

They don't. Check your TV, it is black and white. They have new color TV's now and the number of silver and grey cars is surprisingly few!
