well all players should wear cups but it is probably most necessary for any infielder. those gounders can take wierd hops. believe me i know, thats why i always wear one no matter where im playing. but i dont think an OF or a pitcher would have to wear one as much as an infielder.

for little league, ALL players should definitely wear cups. because they are so inexperienced, they all need to be protected. as they get into high school, outfielders can pretty much decide for themselves. sometimes I did, sometimes I didn't. infielders would be wise to always have one on, every infielder I knew wore one. pitchers are a little sketchy. i was a pitcher from about 5th grade through high school varsity and then a few years beyond- and I always wore one just in case. no sense risking it in my opinion.

I had a coach that would make us all wear one, and his favorite thing to do was a "cup check"....tapping your nuts with a baseball bat. Not very pleasant when you decided to go without one for a day.

my suggestion, have them all wear them...you never know when they put someone in another position so its better to be prepared...
i was a catcher for years but also played other positions as well, having the cup on didnt bother me at all....kids will get used to it...

If they are smart all of them would. I really have no idea who does and doesn't but only a dumbass wouldn't wear a cup

In most lower levels it is specified all wear one. In HS the catchers by rule are required.
It is the head coach's responsibility to assure his players are properly and legally equipped.

I don't believe the girls have to wear them, at least Tatum O'Neil didn't in The Bad News Bears.

ive seen ss's take hops off the cup, but all infielders including pitchers should wear them. outfielders u dont have to.

it is recomendened that all infielders and pitcher wear cups but it is not mandatory
