I would press assault charges. I have a piece of graphite in the palm of my hand (I fell on a pencil and the graphite broke off in my palm) that has been there for 50 years. It was deep enough that without going into surgery, it was not easily removed, so it stayed. Never had any infection and it has never traveled anywhere else. Just a black dot. So the ER might not do anything. However, if you are thinking of pressing charges you need to get the injury documented, so get into the doctor, STAT.

It's not lead. The inside of a pencil is a soft carbon form called graphite, mixed with clay to harden it. Lead's not been used in pencils for over 100 years.

I agree with dragon... go to the emergency room and have it removed. Get your parents to drive you, and press assault charges with the police. Your "friend" needs anger management counselling, and needs to learn to not attack people.

If you have the nerve you can dig it out with a needle use alcohol on the needle and on your hand. Then put on some neosporin. Been there done that.
