It is most likely the Quebicians who are called frogs, because they would be speaking French. Frog is the derogatory name for French people, and it originated because French people ate frog legs. Hence "limey" for Englanders.

The term was given to all French Canadian's because the french are usually called a french FROG.Because of the French in Canada that are called this, it was sumwhat adopted to all Canadian's. Wierd EH!?

They aren't...they are called Canucks...people from the French province of Quebec , which is in Eastern Canada are sometimes called "frogs"...but they consider the term derogatory.
