And don't tell me she can do both easily, thats not what I'm asking, Because everyone has a natural voice, and the rest they belt, and she belts alot!

I think she's naturally an alto with a lot of range but i'd call her a mezzo-soprano full voice...she can belt out soprano notes but it takes her a lot to do it!!! so i'd say an alto with a LOT of belting range or mezzo-soprano!!

Hahah Flasetto! lol JK although Im not too big a fan of her music I think she is a natural alto considering her more "relaxed" singing voice and taking voice. Although she can hit most soprano notes and maybe even higher.
Shes pretty well known for being able to his notes we above the norm probably easily more than five octaves worth.

As a coloratura soprano, Carey can cover all the notes from the alto vocal range leading to those of a soprano,[4] and her vocal trademark is her ability to sing in the whistle register. She has cited Minnie Riperton as the greatest influence on her singing technique, and from a very early age she attempted to emulate Riperton's high notes, to increasing degrees of success as her vocal range expanded. According to most sources, she has a five-octave vocal range, though some erroneously credit her with seven or eight octaves.
