yup, it is a line of BS, its just used to mask another persons pain making them seem nobler than they really are
nobody wants to see anybody that hurt them happy
if a person gets hurt by someone then its a natural instinct to want to see that person hurt and suffering for it

If one truly loves a person they will only wish for them to be happy and to have a good life.
True love can't co-exist with negative emotions like jealousy and envy, or possessiveness and attachment, they are complete opposites on the emotional spectrum.
With true love in ones heart, there is no need for such negative emotions.
because love has no limits, it is not bound by space or time.
No matter what the distance or the time that separates one from their love, they will never stop loving them.
A person would need to give themselves a great deal of personal freedom within, to be able to give someone else that kind of freedom without.
It can provide a person with great joy, to wish only happiness for another. A joy that is most welcomed over great sadness and suffering when one pities themselves for a love lost.
I believe it and sometimes people really mean it.

I think it is too. People usually say things like that because they are hurting inside over what happened, but can't do much about it. Either that or they frankly just don't care. But, I do know that they would rather you be with them most of the time anyways.

I think there's a lot of truth to that. Sure, it hurts like hell to find out that someone won't or can't be with you, but there is pleasure in knowing they are happy. That's a true, unconditional love for someone...when they would rather you be happy with someone else than miserable with them.

I think it means "ya I never saw a future in us too, but you're really a good person"!!! so it's not full BS but it means I don't love you that much to work on the relationship!

I`ve said it before, and I meant it.
Although, I didn`t say it quite like that. It was more, "I want you to be happy, I just wish happy had been with me." So, I wanted the guy to be happy, but I also would have rathered him be with me.

I've said it, and I meant it...Of course it would sting if the choice wasn't me - but I wouldn't want to be in a relationship where only one person is happy.

Don't believe it. It's all a myth. I would hate to see my ex having a better relationship wtih that person when he didn't have a good, but fair relationship with me.
