It's better for you to buy a new one rather than to try repair it, this kind of peripherals are disposable. even you made some adjustment still the problem will continue. You may repair it as reading but wrting is the problem later, and by next days reading also be your headache. Just buy a new one buddy.

If it just won't read or write anything, and you've checked cable, power, AND drivers, just replace it. They are cheap enough to be disposable.

save yourself time and worry replace it it will come with drivers etc to get you going again
