I have had it for at least a year and now have forgotten because I never had to change them.

You know where you insert the Wet-Jet Liquid formula bottle? Well, look down towards the pad end of the unit -- there is a purple little door there where you press the little button then pull the battery compartment lid off. Replace the batteries and then put the lid back on and you are ready to go.

I use the swiffer wet jet in my kitchen all the time where my dogs eat and sleep. They walk through it sometimes when the floor is still wet and they have never gotten sick. Probably just some kind of new urban legend. I wouldn't worry.

if you pull out the wet jet solution you will see the battery compartment. I want to say it takes 4 AA batteries but i could be wrong. I hope this helps

The bottom back, it'll take 4 AA's It's directly under the gray thing.

I think if you remove the tank, you will find the battery cartridge.
