"Declassified memos from Powell's own intelligence staff at the State Department conclusively prove Powell was AWARE much of what he said was False or Shaky."

Will coming clean now help Powell improve the situation or is it too late?

Frankly, I have been hopeful that Powell would come forward for a long, long time. I believe he could shed a LOT of light on many of the questions surrounding the Iraq war, & possibly more. Remember that for months before he was "let go", his messages had deviated from the Defense Dept's. At this time, no one seemed to be returning his calls nor could he seem to be able to talk with the President. I still believe Powell is a man of some integrity, & hope he steps up to the plate & tells the rest of us what he knows.

All we can do is keep digging & wait for further results. Watergate & Iran-Contra started to unravel. Let us hope & pray this time the probe doesn't get stopped part way.

I do not believe it is too late. We need a drastic change in direction there, one that slaps Big Oil & keeps the theocrats from political control of Iraq. The leadership must come from somewhere else than the US or Britain; our credibility is blown.

Of course he's angry at Bush. He's also very disallusioned with the whole Administration, and most likely, poltics in general at this point. Being a career military man, Powell was taught to find the facts and abide by them in a logical manner, and to do so with the least risk of soldiers' lives. Bush did the EXACT opposite of this: he killed 3000 young Americans because of his deception and lies to the public. Powell once was a shoe-in for a Repub nod at the presidency, but now he will never run becasue he simply does not have the stomach for the dirty game of Washington politics any longer.

Powell got tired of being a Bush yes man. He has way to much integrity to be that. I think it is a little late as 3000 Americans have died and 655,000 Iraqi's have died from the lies that he told for the president. He is almost as guilty as Bush.

That 's a very sad document you can look at the text and tell it was spun for sensationalizing.
