Reading both your questions together, it could be that you have been given a job by your husband's best friend more out of a need to help you out. Maybe he was trying to help your husband financially by giving you some pay.
Try to find out if you dont measure up in work to the job's needs, and whether the pay cut has been for all due to the company not doing well.
If you dont have adequate other skills to get a better paying job, try to learn as many skills as is possible in the current job so that you have a better chance of cashing in on the experience gained here, when you apply for another job.
It is sad that you have to sell your house due to financial problems related to a large family. I sympathise with you. You have to hope for the best and bear the crisis as a family. Good luck to you, and hope you get a better paying job very soon.
