y=x+4-77/34+56-7 what is y if x=87 i hate math homework!!!!!

First off, honey, I could read that as six different problems because you've written it without parentheses, so there's no way to tell what's being divided by what. Secondly, all you have to do is plug 87 in for x. Grab a calculator - honestly, it's not that hard.

Order of operations would have you divide first. 77/34=2.26
Then, you would plug in 87 and solve. 137.74 is an approximate answer that I get, but I highly doubt that is the answer. I think you left out a couple parentheses.

Go left to right in the order of operations. The subtractions/additions are equal, but you must do the division fist, or reduce the fraction. 77/34 = 2.26

PS curious_e, do not doubt it, even without parenthesis, the order of operations would apply. you are correct in your answer. We are too used to parenthesis in our normal math problems; they are nice, but not necessary. No need to doubt you answer. My TI-84 automatically corrects for order of operations, regardless of lack of parenthesis.

PPS A graph confirms the answer; 133.73 or 133.74

i'm not that good in math................... i think y= 102.
I get only around 50 for math so i'm not sure of the answer
