What should I do. I downloaded adaware Because someone told me that it should work and take it off but it didn't. I have done a virus scan and everything. What is it and what should I do.

Yeah its adware! Boot in safe mode and see if adaware will remove it, keep in mind, if you downloaded something it may have come with the program and until you uninstall the program, you wont get rid of the spyware! Read contracts fully anytime you want to download somethin! There is no such thing as free on the net!

sounds like spware, some free ones are :::: one is on the yahoo toolbar,,, windows defender,,,adaware,,,,spybot search and destroy...
run all those
go through "all programs" on start menu and see if anything new, also check add/remove programs in control panel see if anything there

you need to run more than just adaware on your comp. It is most likely junk. Run spyware doctor on it also.. and others if you can. download.com is a good resource.
