this is an old fallacy that the supreme court has already addressed.
some people try to get implied meaning from the words in the constitution.
however, the supreme court has already upheld the constitutionality of income tax. the 16th amendment, ratified by the states, approves income taxes in their present form.

Does 'we the people' are actually 'we the sheeple'. We have allow the government 'of the people and for the people' to run us by the horns. Everyone, not I nor you, thinks the purpose of the federal government is to support us. Dependence on the government causes more government, it's never ending. UN- LESS we take back the power that has been abused. Stop demanding handout, free lunches ride........waste.
The 16th Amendment was never ratified, BUT just try to not give the government (IRS) its share and see where you end up.
Even though we pay taxes, we are still better off then most other countries.
I would love to go on about this subject, however time and space do not permit my rant. Surely you understand the injustice we are faced with.

I think that there are laws stating we must pay. The key is to vote people out that want you to pay more. Honestly, the only thing they should teach you in school before anything else is the tax code. It is a convoluted mess that only the wealthy and convoluted minds understand. There ought to be a tax channel, a tax newspaper, a tax magazine and a tax kindergarten. Everything else in life is easy including the secrets of the universe the beginning of time and the chicken or the egg compared to the tax codes.

sorry, but by law as established by the 16th Amendment, we must pay taxes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixteenth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution
that video is full of errors and mistatement of facts
its written into ammendment 16 of our consititution. The whole crap about it not being ratified is pure fiction. this video is nothing more than gross misinformation.
Instead of learning 'history' through oped videos on google, you might want to delve your nose into a history book instead
This issue has been raised and defeated by our highest courts
The article Tax protester constitutional arguments covers this topic in considerably more detail, including details on the specific arguments made against ratification.
Some tax protesters, conspiracy investigators, and others opposed to income taxes cite what they contend is evidence that the Sixteenth Amendment was never "properly ratified." One such argument is that because the legislatures of various states passed resolutions of ratification with different capitalization, spelling of words, or punctuation marks (e.g. semi-colons instead of commas) from the text proposed by Congress, those states' ratifications were invalid. A related argument is that various states illegally violated procedural requirements of their constitutions when passing their ratification resolutions. Another argument made by some tax protesters regards Ohio, one of the states listed as ratifying the amendment. They contend that because Congress did not pass an official proclamation recognizing Ohio's date of admission (1803) to statehood until 1953 (see Ohio Constitution), Ohio was not a state until 1953 (and, therefore, could not have ratified the Sixteenth Amendment). These and similar arguments have been universally rejected by the courts.

Because the govt doesn't care about right or wrong. It's unconstitutional to tax income, but that doesn't stop the government. They see US citizens as pigs to slaughter for the money they get out of us. Some people try to not pay, but until almost everyone refuses to pay, they'll keep making examples out of the few that stand up and refuse.

The 16th amendment was never properly ratified and the federal personal income tax remains unconstitutional because being a direct tax, the personal income tax violates the apportionment clause of Article 1, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution. However, the IRS thinks differently. Try not filing your tax returns and see how long you get to keep your home, car, etc. etc. Not to mention receiving a lengthy prison sentence.

As it was just brought back up in the newspaper recently, back in around 1919 the sixteenth amendment was passed that allowed the federal government to tax the wealthy. As with any power given to the corrupt bastards in Washington, it did not take them long to use this amendment to the Constitution to pass more laws to steal more money from us law abiding citizens.

Because the American people have not put their foot down and demanded to have it stopped. Plus we have to pay for a war that we had no say in. We have to pay for the roads that are not maintained on a regular basis and when they are they ask for more money that they already have. We have to pay for the politicians raises that they get for doing nothing.

There is a law saying we must. It's called the United States Tax Code. There are scammers and (some true believers) who claim that law is misinterpreted or was never legally passed and that Americans need not pay tax. They are wrong.
Everyone that's been prosecuted has been convicted.
Everyone that's tried to push this position in court has lost.
Don't be fooled.
