but who are you to say its wrong because if your religion says its wrong ten you can believe that but i think government shouldnt be mixed with religion

Because it's wrong.
Once you open the door under the so called "equal protection' act, you will be flooded with the most perverse descriptions of marriage. Fathers and Daughters, Mothers and Sons, Brother and Sister......Where will it end? Some people say be open minded, but in actuality, you will be opening yourself up for a world of further insanity.
People have rights to civil unions. Isn't that enough? Why should we reduce the value of a traditional marriage, just so a few have their way?
It's bad enough to have to justify the un-natural behavior of 2 people of the same sex. But why do we now have to celebrate it as if it's normal? It's not, nor is incest. Canada now approves gay marriage. If that's the law of that land, than so be it. But this is not Canada. If you want to have gay marriage, move to Canada. We, the normal heterosexual folks shouldn't have to denigrate the sanctity of marriage just to be political correct. We have to draw the line to morality somewhere in the sand.

well because marriage is a term that describes a man and woman living together with the intent on having and raising a family. I do not understand the gay thing but as it does exist, I do believe they should have the same tax benefits as a married couple however, they are not married no. That is like calling a dog a duck. A duck is not a dog and a dog is not a duck. No offense to anybody. I do believe in equal rights etc. Could never sleep with a man but if others wish to do so I do not care or wish to hear or see it.

01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Only two states I know of allow gay marriage- New Jersey and Massachusetts though I'm not positive, I do know they don't call it marriage. It's not around because people are still pretty thick, if you look back it's the same stir up we used to have of segregation and sexism, eventually gay marriage will have to be allowed, otherwise there telling one set of people they have different rights then another based on orientation and it's illegal to do that. Give it time eventually people will get over it and let people love who they will.

Marriage is the union between man and women. In human biological terms two of the same sex cannot create offspring. God place man and woman on earth to reproduce. Gay marriage is illegal because it goes against the legal sanctity of marriage. Basically as we know the world is coming to an end and Satan is trying to destroy mankind in any way that he can. Gay marriage happens to be another ploy to destroy the most precious creation made my God, mankind.

coz it's just not right (even in the aspect of religion). u may say it's against ur 'right of free will' but there are just some things that just cant be allowed. for eg, can u argue that it's against ur free rights to make out with an animal? or a child or one of ur relatives or siblings? it's just not the way things work in life. like with gay marraiges.

That is a very good question. It's absolutely ubsurd and disgusts me that anyone would ever prevent two people who love eachother from being married! I'm ashamed to say I live in a country where our government does not support gay marriage!!!
