Greetings! I own an automatic transmission, 99'model Honda Civic (EK). I'm planning to have it installed with aftermarket headers and free flow performance muffler. Is this ok for an automatic transmission car? any bad effects? Thanks very much.

Yeah i think you should add a cat back exhaust , so you woundn't have to deal with emission related problems. You said you hav ea 99 Honda Civic ? But what model ? Well assuming it a ex or lx , the exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe coming from the engine has the o2 Sensor in it ? Make sure your aftermarket header has o2 Sensor if not . Tap a whole and use a 02 chaser. Good luck hope i can help. Rember new exhaust gasket & bolts.

Yes it will effect performance, and ideally you should have a manually operated gearbox to get the true true benefit of any performance enhancement to a vehicle, but yes if the mod is done correctly with the right ignition and fuel flow and mixture settings you should feel a marked difference in performance.

I think most people put a cat back exhaust so that you don't have to mess with oxy sensors and the catalytic converter.. Adding that and a cold air intake will get you some extra go... be careful with the delicate Mass Air Flow Sensor in the intake if you add an intake. They cost a lot to replace if you damage it.

More noise and very little improvement verses the amount of money you will have to spend.

Exhaust improvements by themselves do very little. Add a turbo and a nitrous kit and the exhaust improvments will be more valuable.

The only problem you MIGHT have is EGR performance if the EGR requires back pressure to operate properly (If it even has one)
