a story about a Peruvian baby, nicknamed "Little Mermaid," who has a extremely rare physical abnormality called sirenomelia. Babies with sirenomelia are born with their legs fused together, most not living more than a few hours. Nine-month-old Milagros Cerron will undergo surgery on February 28th to seperate her legs. She is one of only a handful of the estimated 1-in-60,000 to 100,000 people born with "mermaid syndrome" to have lived this long.
