I think they're pretty fun, and it's not like i hold seances and worship the devil, i just like using them for entertainment purposes. but one of my friends was really freaked out by them and thought they were really bad and dangerous and would bring demons to my house. personally, i think they're crazy, but what do you think?

Why do you care what they think? You know that all they are gonna say is that they are evil and satanic (which is not not true).

They are just meant for some fun and a good laugh.

Anyone who tells you tarot is a tool of the devil, or in someway a gateway to demonic and evil forces has probably not done thier homework. One... to quote the Bible will not work for Tarot, Tarot came about far after the Bible as we know it. Two... MOST people realize that the many versions of the Bible might swap words around here and there, "Witch" was once "woman"... Divination itself is not necessarily condemned in the Bible, unless the Bible has changed since I last read it (which was today at least the New International Version), Astrologers, Diviners, and Prophets make thier way (posititively) into more than a few books. Three... tarot is a tool to activate and/or facilitate your already innate knowledge or Intuition... Since we are made in the image of God, we already have access to Knowledge, Wisdom, or Sophia. Carl Jung is famous, among other things, for comparing the Tarot to Archetypes. People or situations inherant in all cultures and subconsiously- in our own minds. And finally FOUR... you can always just drop this bomb, if none of the aformentioned reasons have worked out with your Christian friends... Satan operates on FEAR and IGNORANCE.. then hand them a book, and hug them.

One final note: Ouija and Tarot are not one and the same... that is the same as saying because both preach: the Satanic Priest and Kirk Franklin are homeboys.

Those people are nutz!

Listen, play with your cards, have fun. The coolest part of tarot is how it shifts our view to the symbolic, allowing us to use our own intuition and creativity to look at problems in a different way. Just keep it in perspective like anything else.

The tarot is just a part of another system of belief; it's not "of the devil" any more than is Judaism or Shinto. When a christian sees a Yarmulke they don't point and shout "You Jews are working with the Devil!" do they? Okay, some of them do, but we widely recognize those people as fruitcakes. You're not "inviting in devils". Your adversaries are paranoid and delusional.

I am a Tarot Card Reader. Their appeal for me is many faceted. I love history, art, stories and since a child I have had experiences-precognitive dreams, etc- I get that from my mom. I find the tarot is spiritual and calming for me. They are also full of archetypical symbology. I read the cards positively. I also do not read them often for myself. They are a psychological tool for me that I don't take advantage of. I treat them with respect, because I treat myself with respect. Yet, I do not worship them. They are not the final denominator in my decisions.

I feel that I have keen sensitivity at times to my environment. I listen to my "gut" feelings. That is why I do not own a Oija Board. I had one as a teen when they were popular, but got rid of it. My gut feeling was that it was not a thing to have.

I cannot understand some "Christian's" point of view when it comes to certain "knowings". The Bible is full of that. I have read it as I have read many other things. I chose to study the Tarot for the aforementioned reasons.

Some Christians will tell you the Tarot is the work of the devil, but in fact many other Christians not only are more tolerant, some of them read the Tarot themselves.

But I am a little disturbed at the line about "entertainment purposes." The Tarot should be taken seriously. It is a set of symbols that links to a lot of other symbol systems, and if you take the time to study them well, they will reward you with much valuable insight. If you only own one deck, see if you can find friends that have different decks, and do a comparison study. You will find some decks that include astrological signs, ones that have numerology on them, and various other symbol systems. By comparing the correspondences, seeing which artists are similar and which have something different, you will find which deck is best for you, and will gradually come to see some of the enormous complexity in the Tarot.

It's OK to read books about Tarot, too, but if you really want to understand, read the cards.

Good luck in your studies. The time spent will be worthwhile.

I don't play with tarot cards or anything like that. I was always told that you have to be careful because you can bring something in from another plan. However I say to each is his own or should it be her own. Anywho-if you are wondering were most christan's are coming from its the fact that most of the time, but not all the time, tarot cards and things of that nature are reality to the devil. But I say as long as no one is getting hurt and you are benning careful-have at it.

I'm a Christian. I believe that if you use tarot or other magic with good intent and it actually works, it's God working through you. If you have evil intent, then it isn't God.

Paganism and the traditions that have come out of it are just primitive forms of worshiping the shared god in which all theists believe.

I love my tarot cards. And as far as people critisizing you they should be aware that todays basic deck of playing cards developed from the Tarot, just without the Major Arcana cards.
I have never experienced anything of demonic/or dangerous nature with my cards.

not a witch and it has been documented over and over that King James changed the bible to his needs and not the Christian's needs

Christians?

First thing you need to understand is that the Bible supports wichcraft, magic, demons, soothsayers etc. Think on that a minite. Really digest it. The Christian Bible tells us "Suffer not a witch amoung you". Now if witchcraft and witches did not exist would the Bible tell us not to have anything to do with them?

The Bible also tells us that at one point Jesus cast demons out of some peo0ple. The demons asked Jesus for mercy, they did not want to die so he sent them into the bodies of some pigs. Again if demons did not exist would Jesus have put cast them out of men and into the bodies of swine?

There's many more examples but the point is the Bible supports the existence of such things. The Bible also tells us how to deal with the supernatural. Like telling us not to suffer witches amoung us. The Bible also tells us to NOT practice devination, looking into the future. Which is what you are doing with the cards.

The Bible also tells us that to practice such things opens the doors for demons to enter our lives. I know you have seen the plot in at least a dozen horror flicks. Kids playing with Oujia Board, Tarot Cards, Seance, Fortune Teller, etc take your pick. And they are attacked, stalked, inhabited, etc take your pick by demons, evil spirits. Did yo think Steven King and the rest of them just pulled that stuff out of thier hats?

Child keep in mind the Bible also says the Devil was th emost beautiful angle in heaven and he was cast down. An dnow to fool humans he keeps turing himself into an Angel of light. If th 4eDevil were red, ugly had a tail an dhorns we woul dhave no troulbe resisting him. There is your myth. The devil will be in the thing you find the most beautiful, your hearts desire.

Do you understand now?

Well, I'm a Christian. I personally don't see a problem with it. I think having tarot cards would be kinda cool, actually.
