I wouldn't induced labor ....induced labor is sooooo much more painful than a regluar birth. I had a friend that could manage without any drugs a regular labor...and her second child was induced and she said that was the worst pain in the entire world. She also stated that she definately needed drugs but that her first baby she didn't need a single thing.

I know here they won't let you go past 42 weeks. If I was you I'd talk to my doctor about stripping the cervix first. They say induced labor is more painful. Also you can try nipple stimulation its the number one way to naturally induce your labor. Also they say sex. But if you've lost your plug I wouldn't. I've heard with the nipple thing to get in the shower and let the water run on them, breast pump, or you could have your mate do it for you.

you won't be finished term. each and every lady is distinctive and a few women have a gestation of as much as 40 3 or 40 4 weeks. you will understand what the great deal is whilst they conflict to set off you and your physique isn't waiting. whilst it would not artwork you will in all possibility ought to choose for a c-area (which takes plenty longer to recover from BTW) and then your toddler is whisked off to NICU by using fact it substitute into born in enhance and his/her lungs are no longer stepped forward exact. after which you will spend the subsequent 2 weeks interior the wellbeing center, fairly waiting to hold your toddler, much less attempt nursing. Now, all that's a worst-case situation, yet some (or all) of it is not uncommon whilst inducing hard artwork. there have been babies born at 40-one weeks by using fact of impatient medical doctors and/or mothers who weren't waiting to be born. lower back, each and every lady is distinctive. And a comfortable miscalculation on the thought date can placed the certainly due date off as much as two-3 weeks. IMO, you and and your surgeon ought to attend until you're a minimum of 40 two weeks previously inducing. believe me, i understand the way you sense. i know how depressing and uncomfortable it particularly is. yet inducing for convenience isn't properly worth it.

I was induced the day after my due date because my dr didn't want to wait. Everything went fine with my delivery. My friend wasn't induced until 2 weeks after her due date and her baby was born badly handicapped. I think she was wrapped up in the umbillical cord. My friends ended up suing the doctor for not inducing sooner. I'm not saying that this would happen every time someone waited to be induced and I'm not trying to scare you but don't wait too long. I'm sure your baby will come soon but I wouldn't wait longer than a week to be induced.

It depends on a lot of factors...the biggest one would be what kind of birth you want! If you are interested in a birth free of interventions (pitocin, meds, unnecessary procedures, etc) then I would say no.

Also it is always a possibility that your due date could be inaccurate. It was with me!!! My daughter was (in theory) 16 days overdue and when she came out she was covered with vernix (the special whitish covering over the baby's skin), which would be unusual for an overdue baby.

Good luck with your decision! It is a difficult one! There are many homeopathic things you can try to induce labor on your own too.

Any dr. that would induce solely on the request of a patient who is only forty weeks is a quack. If there is no severe medical reason to induce, don't do it or ask for it. Labor is much more intense, hard on the baby and you and just generally dangerous. I've had four babies, all late and two were induced at forty two weeks (when it becomes medically necessary). The induced labors were much worse than the naturally beginning ones. I know that you are SO READY to have that baby, but just hang in there!

You can ask your doctor to induce you. If you don't ask he/she will eventually induce you before you are 2 weeks over due. After you are more than 2 weeks over due it is not safe for your baby in there anymore. But good luck! Tonight night just be your lucky night, who knows. I am due Sunday the 24th and cant wait!

I would bring it up with your OB...mine does not allow you to go over 40 weeks w/o induction. However many OBs wait until 41 or 42 weeks before they will induce. The only way to find out is to ask

I was induced because of complications. But if you are healthy and the baby is healthy then I say no. God knows when a child should be born and he will let you know when it is time. All things happen for a reason. So the baby probably needs more time. Dont rush him/her he/she will be here when the time is right.

My fav's were rasberry tea, evening primrose oil and walking the stairs - that really kicked little contractions into gear.
