The question is how much extra do you want to make, and how much time can you invest to do so?
Try this out. Get a pen an paper right now. Don't procrastiate. Write down what you need, and what you want, and how much time you can invest and are willing to invest.
Now tear that sheet out and keep it in the open. Next write out what you are good at. List every hobby great or small, anything and everything you have a "knack" for. For example, what do you do at your job? What are your skills?
Then you figure out a way to leverage those skills. Perhaps you write and sell an ebook online? (much much easier than you may think, and usually requires just a few hours a week when done properly). Maybe you get paid to teach someone how to do that online, either though a subscription website, or even email or phone.
I am personally working for an online company, and it just might interest you. You can work as much or as little as you want. I don't want to post a link here so I don't get in trouble for spam, so if you are interested in learning more just shoot me an email.
I hope that helps you!

I'm a stay-at-home mom and have the same problem...as far as needing supplemental income. I do babysit another couple of kids several days here and there during the week - which might not work in your situation of having a full-time day job. I'll be watching this post to see if anyone has any good ideas that I can also use. Good Luck to you!

I know of something that you can do on the computer to make money, doesn't require any fees either upfront or at any time, and you don't even have to leave the house. Your only investment is time, and only a little bit of it a week!
And no, it's not CashCrate, Treasure Trooper, any PayPal chain mail schemes, or any survey nonsense. It's global, too! And no spam or viruses will fill your mailbox!
I can even help you with links to promote it for free!
If you or anyone reading this is interested, please click on my ID and click on the email link or IM me if I'm online. I cannot go into details here or provide a URL link so as not to get in trouble with Yahoo or its TOS.

In the 80's and 90's, I always went for janitorial if I needed extra money. You can also turn a craft into income by selling it online (That's what I do now), or you can shop at Goodwill for things to sell on Ebay.

Be an agent of insurance. Life insurance gives lot of bonuses when you can sell more.. Bake pastries or cookies and sell it to your officemates and friends... Lastly, if you have talents that you could possibly earn out of it, e.i. singing or painting, use it.. That will give an extra income..

I would say, think of a need you have that isn't being fullfilled or met to your liking. Find a way to meet that need, patent it, and then sell that product to those who have the same need you do.
It worked for the guy who created the IPOD case holder.
