No when i borrow I pay back I never know when I may have to borrow again. I hate when people borrow from you and then have the audacity to come back with a sob story and they never paid you back the first time. My hubby and I have a joke with our youngest she's 25 she always borrows money from us and then pays it back on payday and then borrows it again before next payday. I swear we laugh so much as the same $20.00-$40.00 seems to just go back and forth we always tell her it's OK if you don't have the money but she laughs and says I will be back to borrow it anyway. This has been going on constantly for the past 3 years

All anyone is obligated to do is make you whole. That means give you the fair market value of your vehicle at the time of loss, adjusted for condition. That is to say, high mileage would make it worth less, a new paint job would make it worth more, etc. Neither the insurance nor the person who hit you owes you anything more than that. The fair market value. Not the pay off price at the bank. Not the cost of replacement car. It isn't the fault of the person that hit you that you owed more on your car than what is was worth. So the fair market value will go to the lender, and you will continue making payments until the balance reaches zero. If you are that far upside down in a deal, you might want to consider GAP insurance for the next time. It will make up the difference between what you owe and fair market value.
