the only thing YOU can do is not breast feed or express your milk, as it is a supply and demand system, your body makes what is needed...if you express it, you body will make it.... however your doc. can give you something to help dry up your milk.

Wear a tight fitting sports bra that holds your breasts against you pretty tightly. This will help stop any leaking but it is a bit uncomfy. In the shower, don't put your breasts in the hot water because it stimulates the let down process, which will cause you to leak and produce more milk. Also, During this time, they shouldn't be handled too often, This may disappoint your husband/boyfriend but at least you wont be dripping on him. Lol.
Also, wear breasts pads with the sports bra because the pressure will squeeze some milk out. If you get a clogged milk duct, this will hurt and i know this sounds weird but i swear that it works. For clogged milk ducts/ cracked nipples, put cabbage leafs on your breasts for about a half hour. No idea why this works but it does. Lol
Good Luck and Merry Christmas.
p.s You may never fully dry up. My youngest is 2 and i STILL leak every once in a blue moon

I have had 5 babies and the way I dry up my milk is by buying a sprorts bra a couple sizes smaller than I normally wear and keep it on night and day. DO NOT touch your nipples or let water from the shower bead down on your breast! The cabbage leaves also really do work for pain and swelling!

There is a prescription drug that your doc will give you only if you are having problems drying up.It is bromocriptine. It isn't 100% though. I had problems drying up with my second child. Over a year not breast feeding anymore and still producing milk. The bromocriptine still did not work. I had some of the major side effects. I had to see a gynecologist and he told me to wrap myself tight with a tensor bandage or a really tight bra without any stimulation. That means no contact at all even from your man. After a few weeks it will stop.

They will dry up within time when you quit feeding the baby.About a week , I'd say. You will leak for a little while when the baby cries.
And at the times you would normally feed the baby ,but they will stop making milk if you stop breast feeding. You can bind your breast with wearing a tight sports bra.

Why would you want your milk to dry up after only 3 months?
Anyway - if you're nursing the baby from them, then stop ASAP. If you're not nursing but still lactating, call your doctor and they should be able to give you the hormone shot that stops lactating.
Until then, wrap several ace bandages tightly around your breasts at night so your breasts are bound up tightly against your body. It will be uncomfortable, but will work.

Why by March 2007? You should continue to breastfeed exclusively for at least 6 months, then continue preferably for a year.

The website listed belowhas some good info about breastfeeding and weaning. Also check with your La Leche League leader or a lactation consultant

Once you quit nursing your baby the milk will go away.

Wearing a bra helps. Wraping something tight around your breasts to apply pressure. Sleeping on your stomach.

Don't express any milk and avoid all nipple and breast stimulation. Over a few weeks milk will stop being produced.

Stop breast feeding and/or expressing (pumping). It will stop in about a week. Mine did all three times. But you are going to fill up so be ready to take a long hot shower, with the water running over them, it will help them drain, so they won't be so painful.
