There must be hunger, if people anywhere aren't getting enough to eat, because there is absolutely no food deficiency, but an undeniable and extreme surplus in this country. Typical Bush administration ridiculousness.

First, Bush has many councilors to assist him with all his speeches, he and many others, do not know what is like in ( our ( world to be starving, every town, city in the USA has many children, seniors and middle class who are starving, yet our govt. sends millions and spends it without being monitored, They should fix up their own back yard, before raking the others. Its a shame how you only see politic ans during election. We should not have donations for those in need, not in America,PS, thank GOD you asked us reg. people on here rather than a politic an, you would get a 360 degree answer

I only wish there was "No Hunger" in the USA, and I didn't catch that but I wish we would help our own and our poor not to mention our issues here that have been a problem as of hunger here first.
My heart goes out to other countries but I feel USA gives us our very own the shaft on many things were we are first to help other countries?!

No hunger? Go on to the streets of DC and tell me that there's no hunger. The fact that I live near DC and visit there frequently, and see the poor, homeless on the streets at least once every month and a half is part of what keeps me a communist.

Yes, and the food kitchens are empty. Next year there will be record foreclosures on homes. But you wouldn't know that looking at the billion$ in wall street christmas bonuses.

Sure seems like there are a lot of fat people in line at the welfare office. But does one count as hungry if you sell your food stamps for 50 cents on the dollar to buy booze or drugs and then complain that you have nothing to eat?

And...
Words are changed all the time...what's the big difference between "hunger" and "serious food deficiency"?
Without food, you would be hungry...

it's pretty sad... just call it what it is...
conservatives get all mad when you call Christmas a holiday... but "oh, it's ok to call hunger a food deficiency"...
let's call it Christmas and call it hunger... and maybe we can even help some of the hungry this Christmas...

Let me give you an example of politics - When the democratic convention was held in Boston, I watched security clear all the homeless off the street - why was that done?

sounds like the USDA had nothing better to do than re-invent some terminology.
