Why does the general public dislike classical music?

I know it sounds highly opinionated, but why does the proletariat prefer music that has 4 chords repeating over and over again?

I think it's because most people haven't listened to quality classical music. If they really sit down and FEEL the music, they will see that it's not all that bad.

Personally I love all types of music, including classical. The new generation probably feels it is uncool to listen to classical music. It's a well known fact that classical music is quite beneficial to our emotional and mental health and may even lead to better physical health. It definitely helps plants grow better

It's never played on popular radio ststions, with the exception of Manheim Steamroller at Christmastime.
Although they're actually Classical Jazz.

I have no idea. Persoanlly, I like to listen to it when I'm reading or relaxing. Guess because in todays society there are so many different kinds of music.
100 years ago, classical was all they had.

Because they are not 'cultured' enough to appreciate it, and are lazy enough to accept '4 chords repeating over and over and over again'.

I dunno man! Cause people are sheep and they can't think for themselves i guess. Ironically , they don't mind violin or other string parts in their favorite rap and hip-hop songs, and the other half of the sheep never minded metallica or green day using it either , go figure..
