I want to start learning many cover songs that everyone can enjoy and will love to hear. My primary focus would be anywhere from the '60 to early '90s. Please no 21st century music. I want to learn these in order to form a cover band or do a solo cover act to make some extra cash. I aint making any money playing originals in my band, and I gotta pay the bills so I need your help. Thanks a bunch.

Well i guess it all depends on the kind of music you play or would like to play.
I don't think you could ever go wrong with The Beatles ; Rolling Stones, U2, Pearl Jam, INXS, or music from one hit wonders like "You get what give" by New Radicals; Breakfast at Tiffany's by Deep Blue Something; "Counting Blue Cars" by Dishwalla; "How do you talk to an angel" by The Heights.

I recently learned how to play Better Man by Pearl Jam. It's pretty easy to perform, and it's a good classic.
also
Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. Kind of soft when going solo with it, but it sounds good.

and anything by the Eagles.

the craze in the present day, is to no longer have a funeral, yet to have a 'social gathering of existence'. speaking approximately happy circumstances with the deceased, so as that laughter and stable circumstances are welcomed to bear in mind and chortle approximately. music would properly be something the deceased enjoyed. My mom had a undeniable singer she enjoyed, and a cd of his songs performed in the process something of the service, after it began interior the historic past, jointly as the speaker substitute into on the rostrum. i think of it particularly is a thank you to pass. It stored the crying at a minimum, and persons have been waiting to assemble after the centers on the relatives abode for picnic fare meals. Many families in the present day, purely see one yet another at a marriage or a funeral. And now the two would properly be non maudlin now.

everyone loves the beatles, so they'd probaby be a good choice to do a song or 2 of theirs. then mix in some country, pop, rock, and stuff with it. maybe some garth brooks, tim mcgraw, or johnny cash for the country. then some REM, aerosmith, U2, bon jovi, bryan adams, metallica, pearl jam, eagles, rolling stones, lynyrd skynyrd, billy idol, john mellencamp, black sabbath, elvis, nirvana, goo goo dolls, bob dylan, eric carmen (he sings "hungry eyes" on the dirty dancing soundtrack), or solomon burke (he sings "cry to me" on the dirty dancing soundtrack). i tried to think of as many non 21st century people as i could but i'm only 19 so i don't know too many bands/singers that aren't 21st century. lol. i hope this helps. if you need lyrics or song ideas from any of these singers go to www.letssingit.com for help. good luck with your band!!

Start with Aerosmith. My son is doing the same thing you are trying to do. He learned a buch of of Aerosmith, Eagles, Rush and even AC/DC songs. He grew up listening to my music so he has an apreciation for classic rock. The audience loves them.
