This is what is called a "tribal" design. It may or not be derived from some historical design but usually these designs are a dime a dozen. Looks like an enameled stainless steel band? We sold these in the store I used to manage in Chicago. I think we had about 20 or so variations on this theme. These rings are also usually made in Thailand.

Hi, Yes, it might be considerd as a middle form (and I'm certain it's used as that) however there's a mathmatical importance for it. >three way 'larger than three'. It does NOT imply 'a minimum of three' (there's a change) Hope that is helping. BobSpain

It's a symmetrical graphic but there is no specific meaning for it. It's not a symbol.

it looks like some nordic symbol maybe to odin or something of that nature or its celtic something of those kinds of nomadic people
