I try to use Christmas paper if I cant find something suitable to reuse.. and I recycle it.

I also reuse cereal boxes, boxes of all kinds to wrap gifts in... sent my sister a gift card in an empty cigarette pack once (LOL) my friends and family laugh at what boxes I use, so I try to be as creative as possible.

Sometimes, I use baskets. Depends on the size and what the gift is, but you can fix baskets up so they look really nice! For the rest of them I use gift bags, because we all use them over and over again. Every year, it's fun to see who used the same gift bags from last year and we make a big deal over it. (Just something fun to look at.) Also, if it's a really big gift, I usually just tie a big, beautiful bow around it. Sometimes that's prettier than gift wrap!

No, we just recycle the paper. If you want to recycle yourself wrap gifts with the comic section from your mornings paper. Using bags is always good to, because then the gift getter can reuse the bag.

Don't forget magazines, they have some nice colorful pictures in them and brown paper bags from the super market with rope and string make a nice rustic gift. You can aways use a nice box and decorate it with drawer paper and they can reuse it for something later on.( double gift) Cut outs etc. make the box sentimental. Or to collect baseball cards or something.

i use some gift bags, and some wrapping paper.
but honestly, there's really not much of a point to trying to go to an alternative, because there's no way enough people could get onboard with something like that for it to actually have any impact at all
you can recycle the paper too

At my house we have a cupboard in the garage filled with reusable gift bags. At birthdays and Christmas, you just go and find a bag that is the right size, put in the gift, and give it. When the party is over, the bags go back to the garage. It saves a lot of time and the bags can be used over and over again.

No. The used/torn wrapping paper usually goes in the fireplace. The bows and ribbons go in the trash though.

One year I used old newspapers to wrap all my gifts, and then I put big pretty colorful bows and ribbons on all the gifts...everyone complimented on my wrapping creativity. Happy Holidays!

No. The amount of gift wrap is nothing compared to the other things people could conserve if they incorporated it into their lives on a daily basis--throughout the year.
